Curd dumplings with hazelnut crumbs

Ingredients

  • 250 g curd cheese
  • 60 g butter, room temperature
  • 1 pc. egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 100 g flour, plain
  • 50 g cornflour
  • 150 g butter
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 30 g hazelnuts, grated
  • caster sugar
  • possibly fruit compote

Preparation

Mix and knead all the ingredients for the curd cheese dough. Chill for ½ hour, then cut out balls with an ice-cream scoop, shape into dumplings and boil in sweetened water. Melt the butter, fry the breadcrumbs in it and add the nuts and sugar. Roll the dumplings in breadcrumbs and sprinkle with icing sugar.

Serving tip

Serve curd cheese dumplings with a seasonal fruit compote.
